Archery GB Instructor Award

The Archery GB Instructor Award  is an entry-level qualification designed to equip you with the skills to deliver safe, enjoyable introductory archery sessions for beginners, including “have-a-go” and taster experiences. Successful candidates will receive a nationally recognised certificate from Archery GB. As an instructor, you play a crucial role in helping newcomers learn the basics and discover the fun of archery.
 

Course Objectives:

 

Create a Safe Environment – Learn how to set up and maintain a secure archery range.

Choose the Right Gear – Identify the best equipment for beginners to ensure a positive first experience.

Teach the Basics – Guide participants to shoot using the barebow technique (point of aim).

Keep Equipment in Top Shape – Understand simple maintenance to keep everything running smoothly.

Master Instruction Skills – Discover the principles of effective teaching and communication.

Make Sessions Inclusive – Learn how to adapt activities so everyone feels welcome.

Add Fun and Challenge – Use games and creative activities to keep sessions exciting and enjoyable!

 

Duration - 2-day Course:  Participants will be assessed continuously throughout the course with an assessment on the second day.  Constructive feedback will be provided to help participants improve and succeed.
