National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)

Key Information:

Dates / Monday 28th October – Friday 1st November

Times / 8:00am - 5:00pm daily. Finish time of Friday may be slightly later, due to the assessment.

Group Size / Maximum of 12 people on the course

Lifeguard Course Prerequisites:

Every candidate attending a NPLQ course must be 16 years old at the time of taking the NPLQ final assessment and be able to:

Jump / dive into deep water

Swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds

Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water

Tread water for 30 seconds

Surface dive to the floor of the pool

Climb out unaided without ladder / steps and where the pool design permits

What you'll need to bring with you:

Swimming kit - costume / trunks, shorts and t-shirt to wear in the pool over costume, towel (you will be swimming twice per day, so you may wish to bring 2 sets of swimwear, t-shirts, shorts and towels)

Packed lunch and snacks (no nuts please)

Refillable water bottle

Notebook and pen
